These laws provide that anyone injured in a car accident due to the negligence of another party may be eligible to seek compensation from those parties for their injuries and financial losses stemming from the accident. In the event that the investigation finds that a deceased party was negligent leading to the injuries, then his or her estate can be held liable under civil claims. Similarly, if it is discovered that another party's negligence led to an accident fatality, then the family of the deceased victim may also seek compensation against the negligent party. Successfully litigated personal injury or wrongful death claims can provide victims and families with compensation for medical and/or funeral expenses, lost wages and pain and suffering.
