A Holyoke family recently went through a very distressing incident in which a loved one was seriously injured in a car accident. The woman was driving through the intersection of Cabot and Elm Streets on a recent Saturday afternoon when another driver sped past a stop sign and broadsided her vehicle. Following the auto crash, the Massachusetts woman was trapped within her car until bystanders were able to free her.
The force of the impact broke at least one panel of glass within the vehicle, and caused the woman's car to spin out of control. When the motion stopped, she was unable to free herself, and called for help. Multiple men who witnessed the crash rushed to her aid, and were able to extract her from the vehicle. In the commotion surrounding the accident, the woman was unable to identify or thank these men before emergency responders took her to an area hospital. She has asked them to come forward so that she and her family can offer their gratitude.
As for the other driver, he has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses. Police believe that he was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, and also using the vehicle during an act of crime. He was not properly licensed to drive at the time of the crash.
The woman suffered serious injury to her shoulder as a result of the Massachusetts auto crash. She will need surgery to repair the damage done, and will incur a range of medical expenses as she moves toward recovery. Should she decide to seek compensation for her injuries, she has the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit against the driver of the other vehicle.
